Browns Get Rare Win With New Jerseys, Will Look Good Losing Again
Well, the Browns are going to at least look good again when they lose.
MY OFFICIAL SNAP GRADE: B+ (would've been an A with orange pants)
I love them. It's 2020, you need a clean, simple look. Best in the league? No, but really good. There are a few tweaks I would make to things I had hoped for (orange pants with the brown tops), but it was almost impossible to fuck up the new uniforms following... this...
These, in my eyes, were sort of cool at first because of the combos and "out of the box" feel to them. It was the Browns, the uniforms were different, and that was cool... for probably a day or two. These aged fucking terribly, so terribly that the first sign of a somewhat normal uniform prompted people to freak out and beg for them as the permanent look...
I liked the Color Rush jerseys, but the love over them was as much about never seeing the other piles of trash as it was about liking this design.
Shit, the Browns have been teasing this design change since 2018! Those other jerseys barely last three full seasons before the team got ready to dump 'em in the trash.
"They've not been very popular with our fans, and obviously we serve at the pleasure of our fans," [Browns Owner Jimmy] Haslam said [in 2018]. (via CBS Sports)
This new look is much more like what the Browns have looked like in the past…
…though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish they looked more like this…
…regardless, it's a rare win for a team and franchise that just sucks ass and does nothing but let fans down. While they may not be everyone's favorites, and they aren't the best in the league, fans seem pleased. I'm happy for now and hopefully they complete back-to-back offseason championships with a good draft next week. We all know this is the time for the Browns to shine!
